TrackYourJob is a browser extension that helps you track job applications. This policy explains exactly what data the extension touches, where it goes, and why.

The short version

Everything you save stays on your own device. TrackYourJob has no account system, no server, and no analytics. The only data that ever leaves your browser is a license key, and only if/when you choose to purchase and activate unlimited tracking — nothing else.

What data TrackYourJob stores, and where

Job entries you save (title, company, location, salary, notes, the posting's URL, application status, and the dates you added/updated them), any custom job-board shortcuts you add, and a form draft used to protect against losing an in-progress entry, are all stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data lives only in your own browser profile on your own device. It is never transmitted anywhere, never sent to any server operated by us, and we have no way to access it.

Uninstalling the extension deletes this data. Exporting to CSV (available in the Job Tracker tab) creates a file on your own device under your control — that export is never uploaded anywhere by the extension.

The one network request this extension makes

If you choose to purchase the optional one-time unlock (unlimited tracking beyond the 5-job free trial), the license key you receive and paste into the extension is sent directly to Gumroad's license-verification API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm it's valid. This request contains only the license key and our Gumroad product ID — no job data, no personal information, and nothing else from your browser is included or ever sent.

This is the only network request TrackYourJob makes, under any circumstances.

We do not run any server of our own. Gumroad's handling of payment and license data is governed by Gumroad's own privacy policy.
